Listening to Our Community: Helping Shape What’s Next
The best community programs begin by listening. We’re inviting local people to share what matters most and help shape the future of Prahran Place.
Our Community is always changing.
The way we live, learn, connect and support one another continues to evolve, bringing new opportunities as well as new challenges.
Across Australia, conversations about the cost of living, loneliness, mental wellbeing, housing affordability and social connection have become increasingly important. These issues affect people of all ages and backgrounds.
At Prahran Place, we hear these conversations every day through our programs and the people who visit our centre. Rather than assuming we know what our community needs, we’d rather ask.
Over the coming months we’ll be inviting participants, volunteers, local residents and community partners to share their experiences, ideas and aspirations for the future.
- What would make our community feel more connected?
- What opportunities are missing?
- What challenges are people facing?
- What would help you—or someone you care about—feel more supported?
The answers will help shape future programs, partnerships and community initiatives so they respond to real local needs rather than assumptions. Because the strongest communities aren’t built behind a desk. They’re built by listening.
Whether you’ve been part of Prahran Place for years or have only recently discovered us, your voice matters. Together we can continue building a stronger, more connected and more inclusive community.
One conversation at a time.
